Inability to fall asleep during daytime
Hello all, I was under medication of Desvenlafaxine and Clonazepam for severe anxiety and panic attack disorder with insomnia and underlying depression for seven months i.e november2023 to may2023. I had become completely normal and functional so i gradually reduced the medicines and stopped them completely around may 5th 2023. Post that i was healthy and happy mentally and got good sleep whenever required till a month and half. 1 1/2 months after medicine cesation suddenly since a week now I am not able to sleep during day time inspite of feeling sleepy as my mind is continuously thinking of absurd situtaions and getting anxious and keeping me awake. Due to this i am feeling tired and irritated, restless and sometimes having rumination of catastrophic thoughts. However I am able to sleep well in the night, & donot have any depression & panic attacks like i did before, as of now. I want to know is this an antidepressant discontinuation syndrome or an anxiety relapse?

Symptoms appearing after 1 and half months of stopping meds is more likely to be a relapse than discontinuation syndrome . Seems you have stopped meds a bit early.  You can try practicing relaxation exercise , sleep hygiene and other behavioural modifications at your level for a few days ,but if it's not helping then you should immediately consult your Psychiatry .
