Impacted third molar:(
My impacted third molar ( not erupted/ cannot erupt) Pains every now and then ! Not a sharp pain but a very annoying dull / long pain throughout days! Painkillers don't work, just applying mucopain which gives temporary relief ! Also it is spoiling my cheek tissues since i do some involuntary actions throughout the day to alleviate that discomfort! I want to know can an impacted tooth pain? It isn't visible in oral cavity! Pls see picture

Hi mam yes ofcourse impacted tooth can cause pain. This is because your 3rd molar is in improper angulation and doesn't have enough space to come out. It is also hitting the adjacent 2nd molar tooth as you see in the xray. That's why you are having a dull pain. It is trying to erupt and come out but due to lack of space that's not happening. Solution is to remove that impacted tooth orelse you will face this issue on and off lifelong

Hello mam You must visit a dentist as soon as possible because you might feel that the pain has reduced maybe after 2-3 days but it will recur after some days and the intensity and duration will be increased. Its best to get the treatment done now itself to avoid such pain again.
Next Steps
If you do not wish to get it removed now itself then atleast get the localised cleaning (scaling)done. This will help in reducing the gum inflammation.
Health Tips
Erupting third molar or wisdom tooth pain is the most common issue people are facing nowadays.Doctors themselves are getting their wisdom teeth removed so don't worry if someone has told you that you should not get your teeth removed.Get the proper treatment done.Stay healthy.

Hi, having an impacted wisdom tooth or third molar is very common nowadays. Impacted teeth may be present in the bone at various levels. Sometimes it may be visible in our mouth and sometimes it will be completely in the bone. If the tooth is partially visible in the mouth then in most cases it will be associated with gum problem in that region. As your x ray shows that the tooth is towards the front tooth, there are more likely chances that it might damage the adjacent tooth.
Next Steps
As you are having trouble with that tooth, you better get it removed.
Health Tips
If you are not planning to remove it now, then daily rinse your mouth with warm salt water and clean that area well.

Impacted tooth is creating pressure on adjacent tooth so u are having dull pain. Sometimes it subsides its own but if u r having continuous pain then removal of tooth by oral surgeon is best option.
