Imaginary friends, Schizophrenia?
Hello, is there a risk of developing severly complicated mental problems(like schizophrenia) if one has imaginary friends? I'm going to be 20 this year, and I don't really think I'm seeing people that aren't there, but the comfort can be very real. Thank you.

schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder which is accompanied with delusions and hallucinations - with severe mood changes, incoherent speech. you haven't mentioned all the symptoms accompanying it. it could also be due to some present stress you are experiencing in your life and you are unable to deal with it. so you are imagining friends. please be more specific in your question.
