If your knee is swollen without any history of injury and if you have had fluid removed from it multiple times then there has to be a diagnosis before commencing treatment. From past experience what will need to be done now is for you to have an MRI scan. This will give mire information of the inside of the joint and any idea of a problem. This may need to be followed up with an arthroscopy to look inside the joint. At the same time a biopsy(taking a sample of the tissue inside) of the joint can be done. This will give a better idea of the diagnosis. Hope this helps. Dr Vinu Raj Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon MBBS MRCS FRCS(Trauma&Orth)

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.
