Ganglion cyst is a non cancerous benign fluid filled mass...it usually does not cause a problem and is not painfull...only reason it can cause pain is when it is putting pressure on surrounding nerves may be  in a particular position like while driving in your case There are two methods of treatment 1st aspirations 2nd surgical removal Aspiration is a quick opd procedure and can relieve symptom by removing the fluid in the cyst and decompressing whatever nerve it was pressing on. Surgical removal can also be done as last resort Both have chances of recurrence however aspiration has more chances of recurrence speaking statistically.
Next Steps
Do Consult nearest orthopedician once for examination and treatment options.
