Thyroid medications once started, needs to be continued consistently otherwise it tends to increase.
Considering your age it is best to get treated now as it is in the initial stages.
In my opinion thyroid diseases can develop due to sedentary lifestyle unless proven otherwise from reports.
Treatment and recovery depends on how religiously you follow medications and diet , regimen.
