Hypertension with Hyperthyroidism
Hi I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism few months back. Aftet consulting a physician, he prescribed me "Eltroxin 50mcg". Also, in addition to it, I got my blood pressure checked thrice before I was medicated. All of the times, it was high (approx. 150/100). Few days back, I was having severe headache. When I checked my blood pressure, it was again high (153/100 103). Then I started monitoring my blood pressure on a daily basis, and following are the readings - Day 1 - 153/100 103 Day 2 - 169/99 103 Day 3 - 154/90 92 Day 4 - 173/103 100 I would like to know what can be the cause for the same?

You have mentioned hyperthyroidism and you are being treated for hypothyroidism, there seems to be a confusion there. Need to look at your reports properly. Consult me online

Blood pressure can be increased in hypothyroidism, especially diastolic. Therapy with eltroxin may normalize the BP but not in all case. Is there any family history? What’s your body weight.
Next Steps
Wait for sometime. Keep monitoring your blood pressure. Remember if you are checking by electronic BP instrument, instrument should be at heart level.
Health Tips
If obese, try to reduce your weight.

There is no direct relation between hypothyroidism & high BP but readings u r mentioning r definitely high at ur age . Causes can be anxiety ( as it is very common when u r locked in the the house & everybody in country is worried about the virus) or high cholesterol or family history ( genetic) .
Next Steps
U may need some blood investigations also for diagnosing the cause of Hypertension
Health Tips
Salt restriction , avoiding oily food & mild exercises can help.& monitor ur BP if still high u may need some mild anti hypertensive medicine. Continue eltroxin
