Yes, generic medicines from reputed manufacturers like Cipla are just as effective as branded medicines. They contain the exact same active ingredient in the same dose and work identically in the body. The only difference is the price — generics are significantly cheaper because they skip the R&D and marketing costs of the original brand.
Next Steps
You can safely switch to the Cipla generic. Just ensure you're taking the same molecule and same dose as prescribed. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

generic drugs contain the same active ingredients as brand drugs. Some Disadvantages of generic medicines include inactive ingredient sensitivities (fillers/dyes), inconsistent absorption rates for critical medications, varying manufacturing standards globally, and potential patient confusion from differences in pill appearance. otherwise generic drugs are affordable and good.. My suggestion would be to go with Cipla if you can afford. Otherwise take generic medicine and make sure your blood pressure is in control or not, only then to continue it further.

Based on this, switching to a high-quality generic alternative is a completely safe and effective approach for managing your high blood pressure. Generic drugs contain the exact same active pharmaceutical ingredients, strength, dosage form, and route of administration as their branded counterparts. However, for a proper diagnosis of your current blood pressure control and to ensure a seamless medication transition, we need to carefully match your exact current prescription parameters.
Next Steps
Do Not Stop or Skip Any Doses During the Switch: Continue taking your hypertension medication daily without interruption, as suddenly stopping your treatment can cause a dangerous rebound spike in your blood pressure levels. Keep Your Healthcare Records Fully Updated: Always maintain a clear, updated list of all your current active medications, noting down both the generic salt names and the brands, to present clearly during your routine health checkups.
Health Tips
To accurately cross-reference your current branded anti-hypertensive prescription side-by-side with the new generic alternative, ensure perfect dosage mapping, and lock in a safe treatment plan, please book a direct consultation session via my Practo profile."

Brand-name drugs are more expensive because the original manufacturer incurs massive costs for research, development, and marketing. But the effectiveness of both, generic and brand are the same.

Yes sir you can go with Generic composition as I know Chronic medications are a purse killer , but let me be clear , still for myself ,I will try to stay with the same compound from same brand if it is working well , especially sir, adaptation with age comes down for some compounds . Getting the pressure back on track will be labour work if body doesn't adapt . If you give details of the drug and brand using and for how many years were using the same ,any  comorbidities or diseases other than hypertension , I can guide you further .
Next Steps
if you want to move on to generic medicine , please go with a known company , for being in safe side and use it for some time ( weeks or months) with regular BP charting before fixing it for sure
