Recently, I have developed a problem of high blood pressure. I am 21 years old, overweight. I do not have any major stress, currently I am unwell and I have had all my tests taken today itself. My mother has it and my deceased father had it as well. I work out as much as can. This was the first time I got my bp checked and it came out to be 149 systolic and 91 diastolic. Ever since then I had it checked 4 more times in span of 2 weeks and it stays in the same range. At 21, why is it happening?

For you getting high blood could be genetic as your both parents are hypertensive. Some people at this can have because of high adrenergic drive. Hypothyroidism could be one of the reason. You need evaluation.
