Hello practo user I can understand your concerns.  Social anxiety can be managed with the help of a mental health professional who will work with you closely through regular psychotherapy sessions and help you understand the problem in detail. For the meanwhile you can try and practice slow and controlled deep breathing which will be helpful when feeling anxious in social situation . You can also practice mindfulness which will keep your mind free of negative thoughts . Hello, Some degree of social anxiety is common in the general population. Such anxiety only becomes social anxiety disorder when the anxiety either prevents you from participating in desired activities or causes marked distress during such activities. Symptoms include worries about future misfortunes, feeling "on edge" difficulty in concentrating, restless, headaches, inability to relax, sweating, increased heart beat, gastric discomfort, dry mouth etc. Few or all of these can be present.It can be taken care off with the help of medications and psychotherapy.
