Use it till the symptoms subside. The medication has to applied after defecation. To avoid the risk of haemorrhoids developing make sure to do the following: -increase fiber in your diet -increase fluid intake -avoid aggressively using toilet bidet -gently pat the anal area dry after cleaning with water -apply ointment till relief and stop once symptoms go away -if constipated can take isabgol 2tsp every night with milk instead of lactulose -avoid fried and spicy food -increase raw food in your diet ie salads, veggies -avoid tea and coffee on empty stomach
