Heavy periods
Hello Dr. ,   Greetings for the day. I got my periods after 5 months and it is bleeding heavily from more than 15 days. So, I want to know whether it is normal r do I need to consult doctor? Need your suggestions. Thank you, Sukanya

Pcos and thyroid dysfunction are one of the main causes of heavy bleeding.You ahould get your ultrasound pelvis done to know the size of cyst in pcos as well as thyroid function test.Because if size has been increased then you have to go for an surgicall removel of cyst. Ayurveda has treatment for pcos as well as thyroid.

As it's (reproductive age) urgent matter to attention Bit of detox Panchakarma therapies along with internal medicine n transformation in ur daily routine habits and exercises will work better

Off course dear it’s not at all normal .. u must get ur periodic cycle of menstruation every month regularly .. if it’s not happening means definitely there is some disturbance in the harmones ..

If it is from more then 15 days then you should go for USG whole abdomen as soon as possible. Consult the gynecologist as soon as possible.

Hi , your getting period s after 5 months it's not normal .we need to find out cause behind delay periods. 15 days bleeding we can consider as normal . but its better to get done ultrasound pelvic.

Namaste As you mentioned it is after 5 months...so it is heavy ...naturally going... Need not to worry if no tiredness, giddiness and any...  Bleeding stops by own once its done.
Next Steps
You can have jira powder 1/2 with 2 tsp butter or ghee with hot rice or any hot food at starting of food..three times a day.. upto bleeding stops it regulars flow..
