Having a dry ear is important before using a hearing aid else it may get damaged. Getting a surgery in a good centre with good surgeons and anesthetists is ideal before using a hearing aid. If you don't wish to do so, you will have to repeat a hearing test and then go for a hearing aid trial to check your compatibility with different hearing aids
