Enquiry about tinnitus and hearing loss
Hi team I was on propranolol 40mg ( Inderal LA)last year ( from Dec 2022-April 2023) for anxiety after my sister's death Suddenly developed ear clogging and ringing on the right ear only in March 2023 Also developed hearing loss Stopped it completely in April last year Ear ringing continues today as well in the right ear but it's not loud as it was last year and it's reducing slowly Doc's ENT specialist said nothing can be done I've low vitamin D levels and no ear issues since birth History of taking calls for 1yr now off calls Pls advise whether the hearing is improving and the tinnitus is temporary? I didn't know that the medicine caused this Attached this year and last year audiogram images

There is little bit improvement in hearing. For tinnitus avoidance is best treatment. wait n watch

The hearing seems to be slightly better, but no significant change. Since the ringing in the ear is improving, you can wait a little longer. Vitamin D supplements can be taken. There is a drug called ginkobiloba which has shown good effect in a proportion of patients, but it has to be taken for months together for any noticeable improvement. The hearing loss pattern is that of nerve weakness, usually this does not improve. Also supplement with optineuron tablets.
