Health anxiety
I'm suffering from severe health anxiety since the past many years. I generally have these episodes where I worry to an exceeding degree about a fatal illness untill I ultimately get relieved of the symptoms or somthing else. It is taking over my life. I can't continue to live my life under fear and apprehension of death. Consulting a counsellor helps one day and then next day again it all becomes the same Please suggest me what to do

Hi You have been having health anxiety for many years and it is making you feel extremely anxious. It is important to know what is causing you to have health anxiety. Counseling is an effective treatment for health anxiety. Overcoming health anxiety is a gradual process. You will therefore require a few sessions to feel better.

1. First you should to do some physical examination. After the physical examination if the report is normal, if you are getting the symptoms only then it may be called somatoform disorder. 2. .Having extreme fear about health is called hypochondria. It's important need to understand that concern for your health and health anxiety. When you are ill, your body will produce some warning signs that is normal. Health anxiety marked by constant belief about that you have a symptom or symptoms of a serious illness. You need to consult with a psychologist. performing a psychological evaluation, which involves questions about your symptoms, stressful situations, family history, worries, and issues affecting your life.

Hi... Therapy is a continuous process and not a piecemeal. You have to undergo proper treatment for the time and duration, as per diagnosis/prognosis. Temporary solutions do not work for long. Proper diagnosis and treatment in terms of medication and/or therapy is required. Please try to regulate your routine in terms of proper and timely Meals, Sleep, Exercise, and Breathing/Meditation to reduce your anxiousness and get control over your mood.
