Head circumference for 16 month old
Hi doctors my baby was born at 37 weeks weight 2.75 kg and head circumference was 35 cm she is a female baby I delivered at renowned Cloudnine hospital in Bangalore and my pediatrician always checks her height weight and head circumference during vaccines and never raised any concern .. Now she turned 16 months she had little cough since my regular pediatrician was out of town i reached to other pediatrician my baby wasn't cooperating while he was measuring her head circumference it showed 45 cms and he said it's 1 cm less for her age And again he mentioned since I didn't get any of her growth chart or files he can't comment if it's normal or not But my pediatrician never even once raised concern about it i got very scared and visited today to my old doctor she tried to check baby's head circumference it showed 45.5 her height is 79cm weight is almost 9kg And head circumference is 45.5 (25 percentile ) is this head circumference something alarming

For a 16-month-old girl, head circumference 45.5 cm is generally within the normal range. * It is around the lower-middle percentiles on standard growth charts. * What matters most is whether her HC has been following a consistent percentile trajectory. * If development, weight and height are appropriate and there has been no crossing down of percentiles, you need not worry. Monitor her developmental milestones, weight and height being appropriate for her age at visits to your paediatrician.

HC Is OK . Her Developmental Milestones Are Important . If She Is Achieving Them For Her Age , You Need Not Worry About HC .

Greetings 16-month-old female infant whose head circumference was measured at 45 cm by one pediatrician and 45.5 cm by another.a measurement of 45 cm to 45.5 cm sits comfortably between the 15th and 50th percentiles for a 16-month-old girl. This range is completely healthy and normal. Minor variations between 45 cm and 45.5 cm are highly common and typically caused by measurement technique variations or a restless, uncooperative child.
