My father CKD & HEART OPERATED PATIENT is having HBA1C at 7.9. He is taking Insugen R - - 10-0-10 & Lantus Night 9pm at 20 units. Why does his HBA1C not decreased?

Hello... In CKD patients monitoring with Hb1Ac is not accurate.. More better method will be SMBG monitoring of sugar levels with glucometer to know the control before and 2 hr after breakfast, before and 2 hr after lunch and before and 2 hr aftrr dinner... Also ur stage of CKD is also important as due to slow degradation of insulin long acting  insulin may cause hypoglycemia... Consult endocrinologist for detailed examination and insulin dose adjustment
