I have been dealing with acne and PCOS for some time. My dermatologist has prescribed isotretinoin for several cycles, which helped clear my skin, but my acne has started coming back. I have also been working on improving my diet, exercise, sleep and overall lifestyle. At this point, I would prefer not to take isotretinoin again or use Femilon for my acne or PCOS. I would like to know what other options are available to manage my acne and PCOS, especially options that can help control the underlying hormonal issues and prevent the acne from repeatedly coming back.

Please do not worry. Effective treatment options are available; however, management depends on the severity and extent of the condition. A detailed medical history is essential for appropriate evaluation and treatment planning.
Kindly schedule an online consultation with a dermatologist for a comprehensive assessment, prescription, and further guidance.”
Hello, Thank you for your query,
Suggestive of long term acne control along with management of the underlying hormonal/metabolic factors, rather than repeatedly using isotretinoin.
Would like to examine and detail history is advisable.
PCOS-related acne often returns once a course ends, since the underlying hormonal pattern hasn't been separately addressed.
Next Steps
A hormone panel checking androgens, insulin, and thyroid, along with a talk with your gynaecologist about non-pill hormonal options, can target the root cause instead of just the skin. Please don't restart or stop any medication on your own without your doctor's input.
