Hard swelling of external hemorrhoid
Hello. I have had a protruding external hemorrhoid for almost 7 years now but it hasn't bothered me as I take care of my health and diet so it never swells up but 2 days ago I got a fever and while sleeping I felt a sharp pain near my anus and when I touched it my external hemorrhoid had become a hard swollen ball. I applied a hemorrhoid cream but it did nothing and I'm not sure what brought this on all of sudden. I have a doubt it's alcohol that I had the previous nigh. I took a picture and noticed that it also has a blue bruising color. Could someone tell me which Doctor to consult and if it can be treated at home without surgery? Thank you.

You are having external hemorrhoids which is inflamed right now. This problem can be completely treated without surgery by Graded Ksharsutra treatment. In this treatment; graded Ksharsutra - a specialized medicated thread is ligated at the root of Pile mass. As a result pile mass sheds off in a week or 10 days time period. No hospitalization or bed rest is required in this treatment. You can continue your normal routine activities as usual during this treatment. Now you should take sitz bath (hot water tub bath) followed by application of some soothing ointment or coconut oil in anal passage. If you are having constipation then you should take some stool softening medicine. For further support and appointment; you may call reception at Sushruta Ano Rectal Institute.
