Hands/shoulder pain while moving
Doctor, yesterday evening I suddenly felt pain in my left shoulder while moving my hand. The pain has continued till now. It only hurts when I move my hand not when I’m at rest. For example, when I change gears in the car or move my hand in certain directions, it hurts. Otherwise, there’s no pain, but I feel a slight heaviness in that area. Even after waking up this morning, it hasn’t gone away. Now, I also feel a slight pain in my right side when I move my hand.

Hi Your description points to a muscular or tendon strain around the shoulder joint, not a heart or nerve-related issue — and the pattern you described (pain only during movement, not at rest, especially while reaching or rotating) strongly suggests a rotator cuff or deltoid strain. Let me explain clearly what’s likely happening and how you can fix it quickly. Why this happens When you move your shoulder suddenly, lift awkwardly, or even sleep in an odd position, the small stabilizing muscles and tendons (rotator cuff — supraspinatus, infraspinatus, subscapularis, teres minor) can get overstretched. This leads to: Pain only on specific movements (especially lifting or rotating the arm). Heaviness or dull ache at rest. Pain sometimes radiating to the upper arm or shoulder blade area. Since you also feel mild discomfort on the other side now, it’s likely due to muscle guarding or compensatory strain, not anything serious. What to do right now 1. Cold compress: Apply an ice pack (wrapped in cloth) for 10–15 minutes, 3–4 times/day for the next 48 hours. This will reduce inflammation and stiffness. 2. Medication: Tab. Paracetamol 650 mg every 6–8 hours for pain if needed. Avoid heavy NSAIDs (like diclofenac) for now unless pain is severe or prescribed after consultation. 3. Supportive care: Rest the shoulder — avoid gym, overhead activities, or sudden jerks. Gentle pendulum movements (swinging arm slowly) 2–3 times a day prevent stiffness. Don’t immobilize it completely — that causes frozen shoulder over time. 4. After 48–72 hours: Switch from ice to warm compress if pain persists. Start mild physiotherapy stretches (I can show you the correct 3–step rehab plan if you share a video/picture of your movement range). When to get checked If any of these occur, you need an in-person review and possibly an X-ray or ultrasound: Pain radiates to chest or jaw (to rule out cardiac cause). Pain persists >5–7 days despite rest and basic care. Noticeable weakness or inability to lift your arm above shoulder level. Swelling, redness, or fever in that region. Summary You most likely have a shoulder muscle or tendon strain, not a serious condition. It heals in 1–2 weeks with rest, anti-inflammatory care, and proper physiotherapy. Don’t overuse or ignore it — early care prevents chronic shoulder impingement. If you’d like, I can review your shoulder movement pattern (a quick 2–minute video or photo) and guide you with an exact recovery plan — including stretching, medication dose, and whether you need imaging. Message me privately on WhatsApp at nine three two six zero two zero five three six — I’ll check your symptoms personally and help you recover faster, avoiding unnecessary scans or long-term pain.

Note for any recent activities you might have done which could have resulted on the pain, of any do not perform them. T. ZERODOL MR maximin upto 4 times a day, at an interval of 8 hours Along with T. PANTOP 40 mg one or two times a day 30 mins before food If there have been similar complaints in the past in any other joint, without a pin point cause or minue exertion, you can go for a Vitamin D evaluation, any tingling snesation/ numbness add with Vitamin B12 evaluation.
Next Steps
Go for symptomatic management along with medications by hot compression application 3 times a day for 15 to 20 mins. Apply Moov/ Volini spray or gel locally. Don't do any exercise yourself in attempt to ease the pain.
Health Tips
-Avoid any weight lifting or movements that trigger the pain - During sleep don't not sleep along the support of the arm - If there is not symptomatic relief, or the symptoms are aggrevating in terms of pain, restriction of movements, radiation pain or numbness or tingling sensation from the shoulder to the arms, visit a nearby Orthopedician for a furthur evaluation - Note for any radiation of pain, irregular heart beat, difficulty breathing, indigestion, burning sensation or pain along the chest, if there consult in a nearby clinic or hospital

From your history mentioned, it's suggestive of increased activity of both your shoulders; might be excess exersize, weight bearing or carrying heavy bags. Due to increased stress on shoulders, can lead to inflammation of the joint. You might be having underlying Vitamin deficiencies.
