H pylori In India
I have been treated with PAC once and it failed, second endoscopy showed RUT positive again. I have been put on Sultamicillin + Doxycycline + deltone for 15 days. I am always panicking that what if this fails. I don't wanna go ahead with any more antibiotics, i have lost considerable amount of weight, and I look malnourished already. I am really scared, i am just 25. Please tell me the eradication rates for the current regime i am on? And if this fails, what should I do! And how do I gain weight back? I can't eat fatty foods as I have a tiny(2.9mm) gb polyp and I don't wanna risk my GB too. Please help me/advice me. I am getting too much anxious about this :(.

Peptic ulcer is a very common problem. Treatment by antibiotics and PPI is successful, but not 100% . From your history and symptoms it seems you didn't respond to two courses of treatment. Personally I would not have bid for further courses of treatment. You are being treated by Gastroenterologist , and I suppose they are better than General Physician in treating H Pylori infection. So you should also have symptomatic treatment on as required basis. It doesn't pay to be obsessed with a non life threatening disease.
