Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) is a popular herb in Ayurveda known for its immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties. It is often used to support recovery during fever, cold, and cough. However, while Giloy juice may be beneficial for you, its effects on breastfeeding mothers and infants are still subject to caution. Can You Take Giloy Juice While Breastfeeding? Giloy is generally considered safe in moderate amounts for adults, but there is limited research on its direct impact on breastfeeding infants. Taking 30 ml twice a day might be too much and could potentially affect breast milk production or cause mild side effects, such as stomach discomfort. It’s always important to consult with your pediatrician or a healthcare professional before using any herbal supplements while breastfeeding, as some herbs may pass into breast milk and affect the baby. Alternative Natural Remedies: Tulsi (Holy Basil) Tea: This can soothe your throat and provide relief from cold symptoms without affecting your baby. Honey (if the baby is older than 6 months) can also help with throat irritation. If you feel comfortable, try smaller doses of Giloy initially and monitor your baby’s response. Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health for both you and your baby!

Better please consult with Ayurvedic physician to evaluate the issue and provide you better medicine without harming your child. As 1/3rd portion of the diet or medicine that a mother takes will be consumed by baby through breast milk.

Drinking giloy juice won't harm the baby. But your digestion status has to be evaluated once before taking 30ml twice a day. If your digestion is weak, which usually happens during cough, cold and fever, you might have some difficulty digesting the juice, leading to a possibility of indigestion. I would suggest you to take an online/offline consultation first for a better management of the cough, fever and cold.
