Generalized anxiety disorder, Dysthymia
I am suffering from GAD and Dysthymia from last 2 yrs.i am itself MBBS student of final.i feel severe anxiety when giving viva or anxiety related to academics.I consult a pyschiatrist MD(NIHMANS Bangalore).he prescribed me, Tab.Esta plus 1-1/2-1×contd Tab.Alprax 0.25 mg 1-1-1×contd Tab.olanzapine 2.5 mg 1/2 tab hs Tab.bupropion 150 mg 1-0-1 ×contd Inj.nervo 500 mcg 1 ml .But after taking this alprazolam 0.25 my anxiety doesn't go.so can I add LoXUm (lorazepam 1 mg) sos for that?

I recommend you to consult and review with the same psychiatrist you met so that he can see you and change or increase the dosage of medications. Good luck for your exams.

You can consult same or another psychiatrist. But one thing is clear that your alprazolam must discontinue as early as possible

Hi benzodiazepines have short term benefits. Tolerance and Cross tolerance need to be kept in mind. It seems that your anxiety is related to exam. please consult a clinical psychologist and learn cognitive behavioural approaches. Try relaxation and meditation.
