It is important to note that both cephalosporins and amoxiclav are types of antibiotics typically prescribed to treat bacterial infections, not viral infections like the common cold. For symptoms such as a cold, fever, and dry cough, the likely cause is a virus, and antibiotics may not be effective in treating these symptoms. It is recommended to use over-the-counter remedies, get plenty of rest, and stay hydrated to help alleviate the symptoms. If a bacterial infection is suspected after further evaluation by a healthcare provider, they will be able to determine the most appropriate antibiotic treatment based on the specific type of bacteria causing the infection. Regards, Dr UN Sahoo
Next Steps
Common antibiotics that may be prescribed include: 1. Amoxicillin 2. Azithromycin 3. Cefuroxime 4. Clarithromycin 5. Doxycycline
