Gap required between MCV vaccine
My baby took two MCV (meningococcal) Vaccines with gap 2 months 10 days (Age - 10 months and 12 months). Later I heard the gap should be 3 months. I am a bit worried if the vaccine will not work for my baby or if there is any side effects. Please suggest.

Greetings An interval of 2 months and 10 days is highly unlikely to compromise your baby's immunity. This slightly shorter gap will not increase the risk or severity of vaccine side effects.Common reactions remain mild, such as low-grade fever or tenderness at the injection site.Medical protocols state you do not need to restart the vaccine series for this timing.

No need to worry about side effects. Vaccines are very safe. 3 months gap is advised. Not more than 5 days early is advisable from the scheduled date. No need to repeat the vaccine. This vaccine is optional vaccine. In high risk cases or during pandemic polysaccharide vaccine is available for children more than 2 years.

As the gap is only about 20 days shorter than the recommended 3 months, it is unlikely to cause any harm or major reduction in protection.
