Gap between Cap and Adjacent tooth
I got a dental cap after RCT around 1 month back. I now have a small gap between cap and the adjacent tooth, because of which food particles are getting stuck every now and then. When I spoke to my denstist he mentioned that removing the cap might harm the original tooth and the gap can be closed using some cement in between the cap and tooth. I wanted to get the opinion of experts here if this is the correct process? As of now I am keeping the area clean by water flossing after every meal so that the adjacent tooth is unharmed. Thanks in advance

Check why the space came after so long. If its decay or bone loss, you need to correct that. If it isnt, chage the crown

This gap can be due to caries in adjacent teeth or loss of bone in between tooth region(interdental bone) or may be some issues related to cap.
Next Steps
Get an xray done to find the exact cause. If there is caries in adjacent teeth, you need to get the teeth filled, as that caries progression and food lodgement can increase the periodontal problems as well. If there are problems related to cap, get it replaced asap.
Health Tips
Get resolved this problem asap. Keep proper hygiene to avoid food lodgement by using interdental brush. Hope this was helpful. Keep smiling.

Ideally you should change cap. That is best solution for your problem. Otherwise if there is continuous food lodgement you may develop abscess or there might be bone loss occuring so better get it changed.

Health Tips

The gap can be because of a decay in the next tooth, an ill fitting cap or bone loss around tooth . If it's because of the decay of adjacent tooth then a filling will help as your dentist has suggested. Otherwise further check up will be required to treat the issue perfectly.
Next Steps
Get an Xray done to check for decay in next tooth
Health Tips
Get a second physical opinion through a check up. All the best
