Scaling and polishing will remove superficial stains for you and your calculus and tartar but it will not help you to whiten your teeth
If you want to whiten your teeth then get either home bleach or office bleach done which is not harmful to your tooth at all

By cleaning of teeth ie scaling, only the superficial stains and calculus are removed but the natural color of teeth remains same.. we cannot remove the natural color until and unless you go for bleaching which is usually not advisable in every case..
If the stains are superficial it can be removed by scaling. If deep then you may need different techniques. Consult your dentist.or post your photographs and Practo Consult
