Anger is a natural emotion that everyone experiences, but when it becomes overwhelming and uncontrolled, it can cause harm to ourselves and others. Anger management is a process of learning to control and express anger in a healthy and constructive way. Here are some principles of anger management: Recognize and accept your anger: The first step in managing anger is to recognize and accept that you are angry. Acknowledge your feelings and take responsibility for your emotions. Understand the triggers: Try to identify the triggers that cause you to become angry. This can help you anticipate situations that may lead to anger and plan ways to manage your response. Take a time-out: When you feel yourself becoming angry, take a break and remove yourself from the situation. This will give you time to calm down and think more clearly about the situation. Practice relaxation techniques: Relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga, can help you manage your emotions and reduce your anger. Communicate assertively: Learn how to express your anger in a constructive way. Use "I" statements to express how you feel, rather than blaming or attacking others. Use humor: Sometimes humor can diffuse a tense situation and help you manage your anger. However, be careful not to use humor in a way that is sarcastic or hurtful. Seek support: Talk to a friend, family member, or therapist about your anger. They can provide support, advice, and perspective. Practice forgiveness: Holding onto anger and resentment can be harmful to your emotional well-being. Learn to forgive others, as well as yourself, for past mistakes. Remember that anger is a normal emotion, and it's okay to feel angry. The key is to learn how to manage your anger in a healthy and constructive way. By practicing these principles, you can improve your emotional well-being and strengthen your relationships with others.

Anger towards parents leading to physical violence is often deeper rooted than it appears. In many cases this is due to piled on resentment perhaps from your past experiences growing up or current social, health related or financial situation and/or both. In any case there needs to be a thorough assessment by a psychiatrist and psychologist. Some psychiatrists do both- treatment and psychotherapy. You may need short medications which at least will help in the short term. Long term exploration of the problem will require therapy sessions with a psychotherapist.
Next Steps
Consult your nearest psychiatrist or psychologist for an assessment
