It's mostly unrelated. No food can cause periods. But yes, ultra processed food and sugary food can cause hormonal imbalance which can cause delayed periods.

Dietary habits can alter menses and it is mostly related with high sugar and processed food. Any deficiency can also affect menstrual cycle. Include high protein diet, multivitamin supplements as advised and exercises in daily routine. If any altered bowel symptom, consult doctor.

Food alone rarely shifts your period date in a significant way, but extreme dietary patterns can indirectly affect your menstrual cycle through their impact on hormones and ovulation. How diet can indirectly affect your period- 1. Severe caloric restriction / crash dieting Skipping meals, fasting for long periods, or drastic weight loss often leads to: • Delayed periods • Missed periods (amenorrhea) • Irregular cycles 2. Very high-intensity exercise + inadequate calories This can suppress ovulation → delayed or absent periods. 3. Sudden weight gain- can disrupt ovulation and shift period timing.
Next Steps
If your period is consistently irregular or unpredictable, it’s worth evaluating: • Thyroid function and prolactin levels • PCOS • Stress and lifestyle factors • BMI and nutritional status

Yes your eating habits does influence your menstrual calender. It also influence the amount of blood loss and the pain you will suffer during menses. Hydration is the key. Maintain adequate hydration 3-4 litres of fluids at that time
