**Food Allergy Test â When is it needed?**
We do food allergy testing **only when you get repeated immediate symptoms after a particular food**, such as:
⢠Rashes / itching
⢠Swelling of lips or eyes
⢠Throat itching
⢠Vomiting immediately after food
⢠Sudden stomach cramps
⢠Loose motion every time after same food
⢠Breathing difficulty after food
If these symptoms happen again and again with the **same food**, allergy testing is needed.
**For acidity, gas, bloating, indigestion â mostly it is food intolerance, not allergy.**
This is usually due to milk intolerance, wheat sensitivity, chana/rajma intolerance, oily/spicy food, irregular eating habits, or gastritis.
**How to test?**
⢠Skin Prick Test (SPT) â most accurate
⢠Or Specific IgE blood test
⢠For intolerance: elimination diet (stop the food for 2 weeks and recheck)
Food allergy is rare.
Most gastric problems are not allergiesâthey are acidity or intolerance.
