Why Almox may not be the right choice • Most 5-day fevers with cough are viral (seasonal flu, viral bronchitis, COVID, etc.) • Amoxicillin does not work on viruses • Unnecessary antibiotics can cause: • No improvement • Diarrhea, acidity, allergy • Antibiotic resistance When Almox is used (only if bacterial infection is suspected) If a doctor confirms a bacterial throat/chest infection, the usual adult dose is: • Amoxicillin 500 mg • 3 times a day (every 8 hours) • For 5–7 days ⚠️ This should not be started without medical advice, especially if: • Fever is viral • There is wheezing/asthma • You recently took antibiotics • You have penicillin allergy
Next Steps
• Paracetamol for fever (every 6–8 hours if needed) • Warm fluids, steam inhalation • Cough syrup depending on dry vs wet cough • Rest and hydration Get checked urgently if: • Fever > 101°F for >5 days • Breathlessness, chest pain • Thick yellow/green sputum with high fever • Oxygen drops, severe weakness
Health Tips
If you want, you can book an online consultation with me — I’ll assess your symptoms properly (viral vs bacterial), review any previous medicines, and tell you clearly whether Almox is needed or not, and if not, what will actually help you recover faster.

Dose of your medication depends on the severity of the disease and body weight as well ..do you have sore throat ?? Whether suffering from dry cough or cough with sputum .. I would suggest you to consult a doctor before starting antibiotics ..

Never self medicate. Never take antibiotics without consulting a doctor. Fevers with cold or cough are most commonly viral, which dont subside with an antibiotic. Any fever that doesn't subside by itself in three days needs a doctor's attention. You might need blood or urine tests. Assessment for sinusitis, lower respiratory infections etc. Taking antibiotics frequently, and without indication makes your body a reservoir of resistant organisms which then fail to respond to common antibiotics, leading to antimicrobial resistance which is a grave issue.
Next Steps
For an acute episode, you need rest, plenty of water, and healthy foods. steam inhalation, gargling warm water can help a lot. If it doesn't subside, consult a doctor. Once recovered, you should take measures to improve immunity and general health, again with the guidance of a qualified physician. Thus avoid frequent infections and illnesses.
Health Tips
Never self medicate.

⸻ 5 din se fever aur cough most commonly viral infection se related hota hai aur isme AlmoX (amoxicillin) usually required nahi hoti, kyunki antibiotic viruses par kaam nahi karti. Filhal symptomatic treatment karein: – Tab Paracetamol 650 mg fever mein SOS – Steam inhalation 2–3 times/day – Warm fluids & rest – Levocetirizine at night if throat irritation Antibiotic tab consider hoti hai jab high fever >101°F persistent rahe, yellow/green sputum aaye, breathing difficulty ho ya 5–7 din baad bhi improvement na ho — tab doctor examination zaroori hota hai. Agar chest pain, breathlessness ya oxygen kam lage to urgent evaluation karein. Aap chahein to proper assessment ke liye consult kar sakte hain
