It seems to be febrile seizures. Laryngomalacia, if not causing any problem heals by itselt. Try to not get high grade fever and if it occurs, early intervention is required for relieving it. Tab clobazam can be used as a prophylaxis for febrile seizures . Do not bathe the child in case of convulsions. It can make the situation worse. Mostly risk of these types of convulsions reduces after the age of 5 years. It’s important to know the duration of seizures, family history, level of consciousness after the episode, etc
Next Steps
In case of a repeat episode, there may be a need for anti epileptic and neuroimaging; which depends on many factors.
Health Tips
• lay the child in lateral position • cold sponging helps in fever of children • in case of convulsions also keep the baby in lateral position • watch the baby for developmental milestones
