Fetal pole not seen yet
I got my 1st ultrasound on 20th Nov in which it was showing 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. However I got another ultrasound done on 6th Dec and it's showing 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Last period date 8th oct 2024. How is the age calculated ? Below is the report of ultrasound done on 6th Dec 2024.  Kindly guide is everything  normal and when can the fetal pole be seen ? Uterus is gravid in size and shows single gestational sac. Yolk sac is seen. Fetal pole is not seen. C.G.S. = 12.5 mms corresponding to 6 wks 1 day. E.D.D. 31.07.2025 Decidual reaction is satisfactory Cervical os is closed. Cervix is normal in length. Both ovaries are normal in size & echotexture. No adnexal mass is seen. IMPRESSION:- ULTRASOUND FINDINGS REVEAL SINGLE INTRAUTERINE GESTATIONAL SAC CORRESPONDING TO 6 WKS 1 DAY. KINDLY CORRELATE CLINICALLY AND REVIEW U.S.G. AFTER 10-12 DAYS FOR FETAL POLE AND CARDIAC ACTIVITY.

Missed abortion If there is no issue of wrong dates then no point waiting If you have irregular periods, then you can wait for another one week. Repeat the ultrasound and then take the decision.

This shows that in 16 days the baby show the growth of only 4 days This is suggestive of missed abortion You are advised to proceed with termination of pregnancy At 6 weeks fetal  pole should be seen
