Health Tips
A diet for hypothyroidism should focus on supporting thyroid function and overall health. Key points include:
1.Iodine-Rich Foods: Include iodized salt, seaweed, fish, dairy, and eggs to support thyroid hormone production.
2.Selenium: Consume Brazil nuts, tuna, eggs, and legumes to help convert thyroid hormone to its active form.
3.Zinc: Include chicken, shellfish, and legumes for thyroid hormone synthesis.
4.Avoid Goitrogens: Limit cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, cabbage, and kale), soy, and millet as they can interfere with thyroid function, especially when eaten raw.
5.Fiber and Whole Grains: Include oats, brown rice, and whole wheat to support digestive health and manage weight.
6.Healthy Fats: Incorporate sources of omega-3 fatty acids like flaxseeds, walnuts, and fatty fish for anti-inflammatory benefits.
7.Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to support metabolism and overall health.
8.Limit Processed Foods: Avoid high-sugar and high-fat processed foods that can contribute to weight gain and inflammation.
Consult with a healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet, as individual needs can vary.
