Fasting Blood sugar 115
Hii, In my 6th week of pregnency my fasting blood sugar was 115 for which my doctor asked me to take Glycomet 500mg twice a day . Am I really diabetic ? Is it really required to take Glycomet 500mg on this blood count ? P

During pregnancy the sugars need to be very tightly controlled. The target fasting sugar is less than 95 and 2 hr post meal of less than 120. Moreover tablet cross through the placenta to baby and hence are not recommended during pregnancy. For best pregnancy outcome u must start insulin by the advice of a diabetologist
