Yes, it is possible for your fasting glucose to be 105 and your post-meal reading to drop to 89. This happens when your body releases insulin effectively after eating, quickly lowering sugar levels. Sometimes, in early stages of insulin sensitivity or mild reactive hypoglycemia, the blood sugar may fall below the fasting level after meals, especially if the meal is light or low in carbohydrates. Stress, long gaps between meals, or excess caffeine can also cause such fluctuations. You can repeat the test after a few days, ensuring an 8 to 10-hour fast and a balanced meal for the post-meal check. If this pattern continues or you feel shaky, weak, or hungry after meals, a fasting insulin and HbA1c test will help you understand your metabolism better. This is usually not serious if you feel well. For a detailed review and safe plan, I can assess your case here on Practo.
