Extreme lower back pain
My mother who is 52 years of age has been diagnosed with lumbar spondylosis with dextro scoliosis. she is currently experiencing pain around 7-8 out of 10 on the pain scale. she finds it hard to move around now and has difficulty either sitting or standing even more so with laying down. what should i do?

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. • Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. • Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Apply hot fomentation.

Greetings,   sorry about the back issue. Nothing to worry,  just that your mother has muscle imbalance leading to postural deviation causing pain.
Next Steps
see a physiotherapists near you specialised in posture correction and your mother's problem is solved.  it takes a full 3-4 months to recover from it, ie gain erect spine, etc.  simultaneously your physio will do myofascial release which helps to reduce pain.

there will he vitamin d insufficiency,  so take supplements and see a dietitian to plan a balanced diet, she will be up and walking free without Any pain If you couldn't for various reasons solve the issue get hack to me,  I promise I will cure it.

If you intend on taking a conservatively management then follow this: 1. Wear a protective Taylor's brace or corsette to prevent further progression of scoliotic curve. 2. Spine extension exercises will.be helpful. 3. Hot water compression locally will be helpful. 4. Medications like Identical K2,  Enzomac and Neurokind LC will help.

Share x-rays.. Get MRI done to evaluate the neurological complications.
