Excessive mud discharge
My father is retired, aged 65 years. He is experiencing excessive mud discharge from both the eyes from about 7-8 months. No pain, no redness in eyes, but only excessive mud discharge. His daily routine work does not includes computer, mobile use or excessive reading. He is on ckd and BP tablets. Can someone please suggest solutions to resolve the mud discharge problem. Thanks

There may be possibility of the blockage of the tear duct,

This could be because of blockage of eye tear duct or loosened eye lids. Would need physical testing for both. Till then ask him to avoid touching the eyes and wash frequently with normal water

Please share a close up pic of your eyes with information about pain redness watering discharge itching and blurring of vision,also share whether the thick muddy discharge increases on pressing the part near inner side of eye and nose

Cold water wash all the day ,worm compress at morning with Luke worm water ,need to check up eye photography and associate with itching or not .Then we can advice some medicine .

If he has been having this discharge for the past 7-8 months, it could be an indication of an infection, most likely of the lacrimal sac due to nasolacrimal duct obstruction.

It could be due to just dry eye problem for which u use a month long lubricant and a short antibiotic eye drop course of 7 days.If the discharge and watering does not decrease go to a local ophthalmologist to check for syringing test and rule out NLD obstruction.His cataract,IOP and refractive status will be checked at that time only.
