Your symptoms — continuous cough, chest heaviness, difficulty in breathing, and headache — could suggest an upper or lower respiratory infection, possibly bronchitis, sinusitis, or even early pneumonia or allergic bronchospasm. Possible causes: Viral or bacterial respiratory infection Allergic bronchitis/asthma Sinus infection causing post-nasal drip Acid reflux (if associated with burning) Next steps: Clinical chest examination CBC, Chest X-ray if symptoms persist Inhaler or antibiotic only if advised after evaluation Please avoid self-medication. Early diagnosis can prevent complications. For proper evaluation and prescription, connect with me on Practo video consultation. If this helped you, kindly like and share your feedback. I regularly treat such cases and would be happy to guide you.

To alleviate upper respiratory tract infection symptoms, try combining rest and hydration with over-the-counter medications like pain relievers and decongestants, using a humidifier to ease congestion, gargling with salt water to soothe a sore throat, inhaling steam from a bowl of hot water or a steam inhaler, drinking warm liquids like tea or broth, and practicing good hygiene like frequent handwashing, all while allowing your body time to recover and considering consultation with a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or worsen.
