I am unable to concentrate for long when I am studying. I get very anxious before I have to take the exam. I feel like avoiding the exam or doing self harm. Please help.

The word "long " what does it mean ,1/2 hour ,1 hour r 5 hours??? .. can u be specific. Concentration and attention is always based on interest and other some contribution from environment also. So please specify. ..

If it  is the fear to prove to others is occupying you then it will be difficult to pads the exam. Are you preparing because  you wanted to study or for the sake if others to appreciate you.???

Exam stress and anxiety are normal in any individual which  can cause concentration problems which can directly affect your performance in exam.Just try to keep daily targets to study for exam.study as a group than studying alone. Avoid skipping breakfast.

Feeling of self harm has to be assessed by a Psychologist or a Psychiatrist. Please visit one as soon as possible. Anxiety can be managed.

You may try using relaxation therapies. Also a mild anxiolytics before exam may be helpful to you
