High ESR is a nonspecific marker and does not itself explain persistent eye pain or chest/upper abdominal discomfort. Persistent eye pain or difficulty opening the eyes needs examination to exclude ocular inflammation, infection and pressure-related causes. I would not rely on the ESR alone or continue treatment without review.
