Endometriosis & Chocolate cyst
I have endometriosis and chocolate cyst since last 1 year. Doctors gave Dienogest 2mg. Have missed periods for that since October. But cyst size have not reduced since that. Before that if was reducing slightly. Now stopped. Don't know what's the solution to this. Will I have to continue Dienogest lifelong?

Why have your periods stopped?
First please do not worry about missing your periods since October. That is exactly what Dienogest is supposed to do! It temporarily pauses your menstrual cycle to prevent bleeding inside the cyst and gives your pelvis a much needed rest. This helps reduce inflammation and pain.
Why has the cyst stopped shrinking?
This is actually a very normal response. The main goal of Dienogest is to stop the chocolate cyst from growing bigger and to keep your symptoms under control. It is very rare for oral medicines to make a chocolate cyst disappear completely. So if your cyst has stopped reducing but is not growing any larger that is actually considered a good result. Will you have to take this lifelong?
