A displaced fracture may not heal even if there is so much gap and even if it heals, it will be in an abnormal position. So surgery is the preferred treatment

Its displaced fracture lateral condyle .Definitely needs surgery.  Otherwise will land into problems later on.

Articular surface involved. Displaced>2mm in lateral view Better to fix if possible by crpp.or open reduction .
