Ensure that you undergo a proper assessment once again. There is a possibility, it can be more than just stiff neck so unless diagnosed well don't try any pain relief methods or medication. After assessment if it's not a complicated issue, you may be prescribed some simple exercise routine to follow and usually that's enough if followed well.

First of all proper n complete diagnosis is must. But as u got some relief after the session then u should follow the precautions properly. If pain arise again then it can't b because of dry needling. It's due to lifting weight. So Avoid lifting heavy weight. For colour change and all examination is needed so consult the physiotherapist near by.

The colour change could indicate that acupuncture might not be suitable. Let them check your upper back. Those could be the areas that house your symptoms.....
