I have irregular periods and my last period was from 14th feb. My last sexual intercourse with my partner was on 24th feb. Protection was used but because of irregular periods I was worried and got a serum beta hcg test done 25 days after the last intercourse of 24th feb. The test was done on 21st march. The reference value for non pregnant female was stated as 0-0.6 and my result showed 0.69. This result was 25 days after the intercourse. Any chances of pregnancy? Or the report is negative only?

Pregnancy test can be done on day 37 counting from day one of the period irrespective of the date of intercourse
February had 2 days less
If the test is done on 23rd of March and it is negative you are not pregnant
Hello, I completely understand why seeing a number slightly outside the lab's reference range has caused you anxiety, especially with delayed periods. Please take a deep breath and relax.
To answer your question directly: You are absolutely not pregnant. Your report is 100% negative.
Here is a clear explanation of your results so you can stop worrying:
Understanding the 0.69 Result: In the medical world, any Beta hCG level under 5.0 mIU/mL is universally considered negative for pregnancy. A result of 0.69 is practically zero. Everyone has microscopic, trace amounts of background hCG in their blood, and a tiny fluctuation of 0.09 above the lab's 0.6 cutoff is just normal statistical noise. It has no clinical significance.
The Timing is Definitive: You took this blood test 25 days after your last intercourse. If you had conceived on February 24th, your hCG levels would not be 0.69 today, they would be in the hundreds or even thousands by now. Because blood tests are the most accurate way to detect pregnancy, a negative result at 25 days is absolutely final.
Why your period is delayed: You already have a history of irregular cycles, and the intense stress and fear of pregnancy you have been feeling over the last month is a major factor that can delay ovulation and your period even further.
Next Steps
You can completely rule out pregnancy. Put this worry out of your mind and give your body some time to relax so your period can start.
