Doubt about tetanus injections
I had doubts regarding tetanus shots, and their duration of protection provided. I have always been taking those 20-30 rupees shots at my local pharmacy shop and they say that the protection lasts 3-6 months. On internet it says those are booster shots that provide protection lasting 8-10 years. Which one is correct? Are booster shots different from what i have been taking? And how often those 20-30 rupees shots (i am sorry for calling it that since i am unsure of the name of the vaccine) should i take? I have been vaccinated for tetanus during my childhood. A proper answer clearing all my doubts would be appreciated, thankyou :)

Tetanus vaccines are inexpensive .The first two shots are given at least four weeks apart, and the third shot is given 6 to 12 months after the second shot. After the initial 3 tetanus doses, booster shots are recommended every 10 years. You don't need to take every 6 months .
