Ideally a single food item isn't good or bad for anyone. What she needs is a balanced diet with restriction of certain food items and increase in intake of the rest. We can discuss this in great detail over a consult. I can also direct you to a good dietician who can help her with this

Mixtard insulin is a human insulin containing both short and intermediate acting components. In some situations, veterinarians may use human insulin like Mixtard for dogs when specific veterinary insulin preparations are unavailable or too costly. It can work, but the dosage, timing, and response vary between humans and dogs, so it must be used strictly under veterinary supervision. With a glucose level of 461 mg/dL, your dog’s sugar is quite high and needs close monitoring. Regular blood glucose checks, diet control, and exact timing of injections are very important to prevent dangerous lows or highs. You are doing the right thing by following your vet’s prescription closely and not adjusting doses on your own. Dogs can live healthy lives with proper diabetic care. For clarity and proper management, an online consultation will help.
