My hba1c on July 2021 was 5.7, however I managed to reduce it to 4.8 by Feb 2022 by losing weight.
Recently i took hba1c it came out as 5.0? Can this be false low hba1c?. I started taking multivitamin tablet (contains b12,folic) just a week before the latest hba1c test and started eating clean and increased my physical activity 2 weeks before the test. Can multivitamin cause false low hba1c?

Hi. I think you should not worry about your HBA1c being in the normal range. If its right why fix it ?. And no B12 supplements do not interact with the HBa1C results
HbA1c in non-diabetics does not need to be "reduced." Normal is normal.
To clarify, HbA1c represents the proportion of hemoglobin (Hb) in your blood that is bound to glucose. A certain percentage of glucose binding is normal, with levels of 5.7% or less considered within the non-diabetic range. There’s no evidence or rationale to suggest aiming for a level lower than that.
It's also important to note that HbA1c can vary due to changes in hemoglobin levels, which can be influenced by factors as minor as dehydration. Multivitamins directly do not induce any change as such.
In summary, for non-diabetics, focusing on HbA1c levels is unnecessary. It is not a relevant metric in this context.
Next Steps
Just focus on a good lifestyle and healthy diet. If you're worried about getting diabetes, consult and know your chances of getting diabetes and how you should approach a healthy lifestyle.
In your condition , HBA1C tests are quite normal , you are telling you are taking multivitamins and B12 supplements your question is this multivitamin and B12 , folic supplements will alter HBA1C levels . No chance . You increased your physical activity that only reason for lowering your HBA1c levels . Continue the same and you will be fine . Do not worry .
Next Steps
Have a nice day . Increase to protein food like nuts , eggs and fish will help improve your weight.
