Do wisdom tooth cause cavity in teeth
I am 27 year female. My work involves lot of talking. One day I had an unusual sensation in my right side of lower jaw gums. I felt that my wisdom tooth is erupting and it has less space there. I wanted to know that can it lead to cavities in the teeth especially adjacent to it?

Third molars erupt by the age of 21. A proper checkup is the best solution to your problem. Sometimes the position of third molar is such that it makes it impossible to clean the area between it and the adjacent tooth which can lead to cavity. Regards Fusion Dental

Hello mam, depending on the position how it erupts may lead to cavity in adjacent teeth... But if there is lack of space for it to erupt, it's better to extract the wisdom teeth...

If the wisdom tooth is placed in an incorrect position it can definitely cause cavities in the adjacent tooth as food impaction can happen in that area. An X-ray of the wisdom tooth should be done and your dentist will advise you accordingly
