Dislocated shoulder tried ice pack, medication,and put it in a sling. Both is working still really hurts, can't move it and it's very tender to the touch what should I do? Help?

Hi. Dislocated shoulder is an emergency. The fact u said it is in sling means it has been reduced. Is this the first time dislocation or repeat dislocation that matters. Statistics says that age group 20-25 yrs if have dislocation then chances of repeated dislocation are 70-75 percent. Right now you keep it in sling for 3 weeks and then start exercises from a trained personnel or else you will make it stiff. After that consider getting and mri to find out how big is your bankarts tear to get it repaired later to prevent future dislocation.

Post reduction, you have to put shoulder in a immobiliser for 6 weeks.
Post that, you should start movements and clinical evaluation. Would reveal the exact extent of damage.
Do not try to move shoulder before 6 weeks.
